The Mass Damper is designed for vibration damping and to improve comfort and riding stability. Its operating principle is relatively simple, yet extremely effective: the device consists of a suitably calibrated mass, positioned close to the center of gravity of the area on which it is to act. This mass is free to move in a controlled manner and works in counterphase to the oscillations generated by the fork.

When the suspension is stressed by rough terrain, braking or impacts, the Mass Damper kicks in, generating a movement opposite to the bike's vibrations. The energy of the oscillations is thus partially absorbed and dissipated, reducing the propagation of vibrations toward the frame and the rider. The result is a more composed response from the front end and greater stability in the most demanding situations.

From a dynamic standpoint, the Mass Damper does not change the suspension setup nor replace the work of the fork and shock absorber. Rather, it is a complementary system that acts exclusively to limit certain oscillation frequencies, improving the overall behavior of the chassis without altering its geometry or kinematics.

It is precisely this characteristic that makes it particularly appreciated in competition. In the World Cup paddock, in fact, it is increasingly common to find Mass Dampers installed on the fork, where the rider's sensitivity to vibrations is decidedly greater. The front end is in fact the point of direct contact with obstacles, and any reduction in oscillations translates into better feel with the terrain, greater riding precision and less physical fatigue.
